I’d seen high-speed photography used to slow a bullet tearing through an apple to the speed of a honey drip, which got me wondering if the technique might be used to illustrate a state of mind. Each take of the woman on the bike (the amazing Missy Pile) was shot from a moving vehicle and only lasted about seven-seconds. We had no idea if any of it worked until we were able to play back in slo-motion. In the end it took us 11 takes to get it right, which I blame mostly on the pigeon.
